TS-BS Nguyễn Sĩ Bảo Appointed Vice Rector of University of Health Sciences

TS-BS Nguyễn Sĩ Bảo has been appointed as the new Vice Rector of the University of Health Sciences at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. The decision, signed by University President GS-TS Nguyễn Thị Thanh Mai, officially takes effect on September 1, 2026, for a fixed term.

Dr. Bảo, 48, currently serves as a member of the Party Committee of the University of Health Sciences, Head of the Faculty of Medicine, and Director of the Research Center for Genetics and Reproductive Health at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. He graduated with a medical degree in 2002 and earned a doctorate in neurosurgery in 2015 from Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Before joining Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City's medical training system, Dr. Bảo spent 17 years at the Neurosurgery Department of Cho Ray Hospital, treating patients from 2003 to 2020. He moved to the Faculty of Medicine at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in July 2020, initially leading the Neurosurgery Department before becoming Head of the Faculty of Medicine in July 2024. He also concurrently served as Director of the Research Center for Genetics and Reproductive Health from August 2025.

Beyond his medical expertise, Dr. Bảo holds advanced qualifications in political theory and state management. His contributions have been recognized with a Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit in 2013 and the title of "Excellent Physician" in 2024. His appointment to the university's leadership is seen as a testament to the trust placed in his professional capabilities, academic reputation, and clinical experience, aiming to enhance the quality of medical education.
