Tsitsipas Cruises Through Opening Round at Gstaad Open

Stefanos Tsitsipas made a successful return to clay courts, securing a dominant 6-4, 6-4 victory over Ignacio Buse in the first round of the EFG Swiss Open Gstaad. The win propels the Greek tennis player into the round of 16 at the tournament.

Ranked world No. 85, Tsitsipas delivered a confident performance, avenging a recent loss to Buse in Mallorca. He relied heavily on his serve in the first set, losing only five points in his service games. Tsitsipas maintained pressure on his opponent and secured the crucial break in the tenth game to clinch the set.

The second set saw a brief shift as Buse managed to break Tsitsipas's serve to take a 4-3 lead. However, Tsitsipas responded emphatically, breaking back immediately and then again to win the set 6-4, sealing his match victory.

Tsitsipas finished the match with six aces and no double faults, winning 63% of his first serves and converting three out of ten break point opportunities. He is set to face Jérôme Kym in the next round of the Swiss tournament.
