Tunis Faces Rotating Power Outages Wednesday

Tunisia's national electricity company, STEG, has announced that rotating power outages may affect several areas in Greater Tunis on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. These interruptions are scheduled to occur intermittently between 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM, with each outage not expected to last longer than two hours. The company stated that this exceptional measure is necessary to maintain the security, stability, and continuity of the national electrical system, balancing production with consumption needs.

The potentially affected zones include Ennasr, Les Jardins d’El Menzah, Les Berges du Lac, La Soukra, Sidi Frej, Nouvelle Médina, Borj Touil, Sanhaja, La Goulette, El Mourouj, Ben Arous, Mégrine, Aïn Zaghouan, Jedeida, Ezzahra, Borj Cedria, Le Kram, Hammam-Lif, and La Manouba. STEG cautioned that this list is not exhaustive and other areas could be impacted depending on the network's condition and evolving constraints. Electricity restoration may occur without prior notice.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions to protect electrical appliances and sensitive equipment.
