Turin Celebrates Anniversary of King Mohammed VI's Enthronement

The Moroccan Consulate General in Turin, Italy, hosted a celebration marking the 27th anniversary of King Mohammed VI's enthronement. The event drew Italian political, institutional, and security figures, alongside representatives from the Moroccan community and civil society. Consul General Yassine Dadi emphasized that the anniversary is a national occasion to reaffirm loyalty and belonging, and to acknowledge the Kingdom's development projects and reforms. The celebration underscored the robust Moroccan-Italian relationship and the diaspora's role in strengthening communication between the two nations. Notable Italian officials attended, including the governor of La Spezia, Andrea Canadori, and Turin's local parliament president, Maria Grazia Grippo. Also present were the deputy governor of Turin, Sandra Tripodi, the deputy mayor of Turin, Michela Favaro, and the regional director of security, Massimo Gambino, along with representatives from the Italian Carabinieri. The ceremony also recognized several accomplished young individuals of Moroccan descent. Among them were judo champion Nisrine Azizi, who won a gold medal, Pietro Tranchina, who carried the Moroccan flag at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, and Maryam Zariat, a bronze medalist at the Junior World Championships in Rafting. The event concluded with an atmosphere of pride in national identity, with attendees affirming the strong bonds between the Moroccan diaspora and their homeland, and their contribution to fostering friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Italy.
