Turkey braces for heavy rain and thunderstorms in several regions

Turkey's State Meteorological Service (MGM) has issued a weather alert for several regions, predicting scattered and very cloudy conditions across the country's north, interior, and east. Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are anticipated in the eastern Marmara, Central Anatolia, Black Sea, and northern and western Eastern Anatolia regions.

Specific areas like northern Balıkesir and Çanakkale, and the inland western parts of Antalya, are expected to experience local downpours. Meanwhile, southern Southeastern Anatolia may see dust transport. The alert highlights that Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Kütahya, Bitlis, Van, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, and Kilis are particularly susceptible to localized showers and thunderstorms.

The MGM warns that rainfall could be locally intense in the Western Black Sea, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Çorum, Ordu, Giresun, and Trabzon. Citizens in these areas are urged to take precautions against potential adverse weather events. Additionally, strong northerly winds are expected in the Marmara and Aegean regions, prompting further warnings for caution.
