Turkey's YENİ Party lawmakers donate monthly salary to campaign

Lawmakers from Turkey's newly established YENİ Party have announced their commitment to support the party's fundraising campaign by donating one month's salary. This initiative, spearheaded by party leader Özgür Özel, aims to bolster the party's financial resources as it seeks to establish its presence in the political landscape.

The campaign, which kicked off recently, has seen a significant response, with the party reporting that tens of thousands of citizens contributed within the first 24 hours. The total amount raised in this initial period reached an impressive 113,841,910 Turkish Lira.

Party officials are actively promoting the campaign. Murat Emir, the YENİ Party's Group Deputy Chairman, took to social media to announce his personal contribution and encourage others to join. "Turkey needed a NEW politics! As a proud founder of the YENİ Party, I am donating one month's salary to the party. Let's walk this path shoulder to shoulder," Emir posted on his X account, emphasizing the collective effort required.
