Turkish Parliament Speaker: 'Terror-Free Turkey' to enter new phase this summer

Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş declared that the initiative for a "Terror-Free Turkey" is set to enter a new phase this summer. Speaking at a ceremony in Şırnak, he stressed the importance of social unity and brotherhood, asserting that legislative measures will be enacted to finalize the process.

Kurtulmuş stated that before the summer ends, actions will be taken to ensure terrorist organizations fully lay down their arms and are dissolved. "Laws to be enacted in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will ensure this matter is completely left behind; unity and togetherness will prevail in this country," he said.

During his address, Kurtulmuş invoked the story of Noah, referring to Şırnak as "Noah's City." He likened Noah's Ark to a "beacon of salvation" and a "harbor of rescue," from which lessons of patience, wisdom, solidarity, and rebirth can be learned. He urged the audience to "firmly grasp God's rope" and embrace brotherhood, unity, and togetherness.

Kurtulmuş highlighted the shared destiny of Turkey's 86 million citizens, stating, "Our past is one, our future is one, our destiny is one, our present is one." He emphasized that nothing can divide the nation, pointing to shared customs, traditions, language, sorrows, and celebrations. He also mentioned the successful oil extraction in Gabar Mountain, noting that production has surpassed 80,000 barrels per day, bringing prosperity to the region.
