Turkish social media influencer arrested, earnings scrutinized

Fidan Atalay, a social media figure widely recognized as 'Fidan Hoca,' faces arrest and scrutiny over her online activities. An investigation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office centers on allegations that her shared content, including videos and photos, constitutes obscenity. Furthermore, authorities are examining whether the income generated from this content could be linked to money laundering.

Details emerging from the investigation reveal significant earnings from Atalay's social media presence. With over 701,000 followers on Instagram, she reportedly had more than 12,100 paid subscribers. Considering a monthly subscription fee of 79.99 Turkish Lira, her earnings from Instagram subscriptions alone are estimated to be around 1 million Turkish Lira per month.

In addition to her social media income, all of Atalay's bank accounts are reportedly under review. She was apprehended in Izmir as part of the Ankara prosecutor's investigation and subsequently transferred to Ankara. After her statement was taken via SEGBİS (Electronic Communication System), she was brought before the Ankara Duty Criminal Court of Peace and ordered to be detained.
