Two arrested for secretly filming customers at Istanbul beauty center

Authorities in Istanbul have arrested two individuals suspected of secretly filming customers at a beauty center in the Bakırköy district. The suspects are accused of recording clients during procedures and then distributing the footage online for profit.

The investigation was initiated following complaints from four clients who stated their private moments were captured by hidden cameras and subsequently published on social media. During a search of the business premises, police seized seven devices, including one active hidden camera and six dismantled units, along with a significant amount of digital material.

Investigators determined that approximately 14,000 videos were published through one platform. The business owner, identified as F.Ö., and E.S.C., who allegedly installed the camera system, were taken into custody. They face charges including violation of privacy, unlawful acquisition of personal data, and obscenity.

Following legal proceedings at the Bakırköy Courthouse, a judge ordered the detention of the two suspects. The case highlights concerns about privacy violations and the illicit distribution of personal content online.
