Two arrested in bug spraying 'disaster' after 9-year-old dies

An investigation into the death of a 9-year-old boy, allegedly due to pesticide exposure from fumigation in a neighboring apartment, has led to two arrests. The incident occurred in an apartment building in Barbaros Mahallesi, where the child and his mother were reportedly poisoned.

The homeowner and the company manager were arrested and sent to the courthouse.

Authorities have detained the homeowner of the apartment where the pest control was carried out, identified as Z.B., and the manager of the pest control company, Ö.E. Both were transferred to the courthouse after completing police procedures. A company employee, B.E.S., was released on judicial control.

The child's mother, Sevda Çanlı, is currently undergoing treatment at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Hospital. The tragic event unfolded when the child's father, Uğur Çanlı, returned home to find his wife and son unconscious. He transported them to Mehmet Akif Ersoy Çanakkale State Hospital. The child, Yusuf Talha, was later transferred via air ambulance to Başakşehir Çam ve Sakura City Hospital in Istanbul, where he succumbed to his injuries.
