Two bodies recovered from Langtang Khola hydropower project tunnel

Two bodies have been recovered from the tunnel of the Langtang Khola Hydropower Project in Rasuwa, as rescue teams continue searching for 41 workers who remain unaccounted for.

A Nepal Army search and rescue team recovered the bodies from inside the tunnel, project manager Bijay Man Bhattarai said. A team of hydromechanical engineers has entered about 150 meters into the tunnel to support the operation.

The Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and the project’s technical team are carrying out the search. Operations reached 150 meters inside the tunnel on Wednesday and intensified from early Thursday morning.
