Two brothers drown in water puddle in Turkey's Gaziantep

A tragic incident occurred in the Örenli neighborhood of Gaziantep, Turkey, where two brothers drowned in a water puddle while seeking relief from the heat. Murat Telli, 13, and his older brother Muhammet Mahmut Telli, 15, entered a rural water accumulation with friends to cool down.

Shortly after entering the water, the brothers began to struggle. Alerted by the commotion, other children present rushed to help but were unable to rescue them. They then alerted the local residents, who quickly responded to the scene.

Bystanders pulled the unconscious brothers from the water and handed them over to emergency medical teams. Paramedics provided initial treatment before transporting the boys to Yavuzeli State Hospital and Şehitkamil State Hospital, respectively. Despite all efforts, both Murat and Muhammet Mahmut Telli were pronounced dead. Their bodies were taken to the Gaziantep Forensic Medicine Institute morgue, and an investigation into the incident has been launched by the gendarmerie.
