Two children and grandmother killed in collision with fuel tanker in Dong Thap

A tragic traffic accident in Vietnam's Dong Thap province claimed the lives of a grandmother and two grandchildren on Saturday, July 4th, 2026. The incident occurred when the grandmother, identified as C.T.H., 54, was riding an electric bicycle with her two grandchildren to pick up lottery tickets for sale.

Around 11:10 AM, while traveling on National Highway 1, the electric bicycle collided with a fuel tanker truck. The truck, with license plate 65H - 053.xx, was making a right turn from National Highway 1 onto Pham Hung Street when the collision happened.

The impact was fatal for C.T.H. and her 4-year-old grandson, N.N.C.T., who died at the scene. A 6-year-old girl, also on the bicycle, sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment by locals.

According to relatives, the children's parents are no longer together, and they were under the care of their grandparents. The cause of this severe accident is currently under investigation by the relevant authorities.
