Two Dead After Car Hit and Dragged 150 Meters by Train in Romania

A tragic accident at a railway crossing in Iași County, Romania, claimed the lives of two men on Wednesday. The car they were traveling in was struck by a passenger train and dragged for approximately 150 meters.

Emergency services, including firefighters and ambulance crews, were dispatched to the scene. They found the two occupants of the car trapped and unresponsive. Despite their efforts to extract the victims from the mangled vehicle, both men, aged 52 and 46, were pronounced dead.

The train involved, IR 1763, was en route from Iași to Timișoara Nord and carried around 350 passengers, none of whom required medical attention. Authorities are investigating the exact circumstances and cause of the collision, urging drivers to exercise extreme caution at railway crossings and adhere to all signaling.

Local media reported that the driver of the car was a 52-year-old man, and the passenger was 46 years old. The incident highlights the dangers present at level crossings and the critical importance of following safety regulations.
