Two detained in investigation into bodyguard's death after beating

Authorities have detained two individuals in connection with the death of Antonio Perrotta, a 34-year-old man from Fuscaldo who died after being beaten outside a nightclub in Sangineto. The arrests were made based on an order from the Public Prosecutor's Office of Paola.

The investigation, led by the mobile squad of Cosenza and the Diamante police station, along with the Carabinieri from Paola and Scalea, identified the suspects through surveillance video footage. The two detained individuals, who are brothers and originally from the area, reportedly live and work abroad but visit their hometown periodically.

They are currently being questioned by the Public Prosecutor of Paola, Domenico Fiordalisi, to further assess their involvement in the homicide investigation. The case is being treated as aggravated homicide, with preliminary findings suggesting the attack stemmed from "futile motives."

Investigators have reportedly gathered testimonies from numerous individuals, which contributed to the Public Prosecutor's decision to issue the detention order. According to initial reconstructions, a dispute began inside the nightclub and escalated outside, leading to the fatal beating of Perrotta.
