Two Drown, One Missing After Beach Incident in Quang Ngai

Tragedy struck Sa Huynh beach in Quang Ngai, Vietnam, on July 12, 2026, when strong waves caused a drowning incident that claimed the lives of two women and left a 5-year-old boy missing.

The victims, identified as 67-year-old B.T.T. and 60-year-old L.T.C., along with L.T.C.'s grandson, 5-year-old V.V.N., were swimming near the Thach By 2 breakwater when the powerful waves swept them out to sea.

Local authorities and the Sa Huynh Border Guard quickly mobilized rescue efforts. Despite their swift response, the bodies of the two women were recovered by 6:20 PM the same day. Search operations for the missing boy are ongoing, with rescue teams and local residents expanding the search area.

Nguyen Viet Thanh, Chairman of the Sa Huynh People's Committee, confirmed the incident, highlighting the ongoing efforts to find the missing child. The community remains hopeful for the boy's safe return as the search continues.
