Two injured after police fire on fleeing vehicle during attempted burglary in Germany

Two men are in custody following a police shooting incident in Gaggenau, Germany, where officers fired at their fleeing vehicle during an attempted burglary. The suspects, aged 19 and 24, sustained injuries from the gunfire and have been placed under arrest warrants for aggravated theft and property damage.

Authorities reported that the men attempted to forcibly enter a commercial property by breaking down the entrance door during the night. Witnesses alerted the police after hearing the noise. Upon arrival, officers encountered the suspects, who then entered their vehicle and drove towards the police. In response, an officer discharged their weapon.

The suspects' vehicle also collided with a police car during the incident. Investigations revealed that the vehicle had been stolen in France a few days prior. The injured suspects were transported to hospitals, with their injuries not being life-threatening.
