Two Suspected Unión Tepito Members Arrested in Mexico City with Drugs and Firearm

Mexico City police have arrested two individuals, identified as Diego "N" and Uriel "N", in the Cuauhtémoc borough. Authorities suspect them of being members of the notorious Unión Tepito criminal group.

The arrests occurred during patrols in the Obrera neighborhood, prompted by reports of drug sales. Police officers observed the two men carrying what appeared to be drug packages on Calzada San Antonio Abad. A subsequent search revealed they were in possession of 96 bags of marijuana, 23 doses of cocaine, 63 doses of methamphetamine, a handgun with ammunition, cash, and two cell phones.

According to the capital's Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), the detained men were allegedly under the command of a figure known as "El Tío Muñeca" and were involved in street-level drug dealing in the Obrera area. They have been handed over to a public prosecutor to determine their legal status.
