Two UPM Officers Appointed as Ministry of Higher Education Liaisons

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has announced the appointment of two of its officers, Muhammad Aiman Mohd. Anuar and Nur Nadhirah Zunaidi, as RakanKPT (Higher Education Ministry Friends) for the 2026/2027 session. Their role is to act as conduits for disseminating national higher education agendas, ensuring information is conveyed accurately, swiftly, and factually to the public.

Muhammad Aiman, an Agricultural Officer, and Nur Nadhirah, an Assistant Veterinary Officer, both serving at UPM's Putra Agricultural Centre, are among 50 individuals selected for this program. The appointments were formalized during the RakanKPT Strengthening Workshop Series 1, 2026, inaugurated by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), Datuk Ts. Dr. Aminuddin Hassim, in Putrajaya.

These RakanKPT appointees represent two individuals from each public university and ten representatives from Polytechnic and Community College Education Departments (JPPKK). Aminuddin emphasized that RakanKPT members are crucial strategic links, bringing information about policies, aid, programs, initiatives, and higher education opportunities closer to the populace. He stressed that their function extends beyond mere information dissemination.

"RakanKPT are not just spreading information, but must also serve as a two-way communication bridge between KPT and the community," Aminuddin stated. He further highlighted the importance of clear, ethical, and fact-based communication, drawing from official sources. "Their ability to connect with the community through social media is vital to ensure the higher education agenda is understood down to the grassroots level," he added.
