Typhoon Haikui has weakened to a moderate typhoon, but its large size and uncertain path continue to pose a potential threat to Taiwan. Forecasters predict it will move northwest-west before Friday, with its trajectory after passing the Ryukyu Islands dependent on the strength of the high-pressure system. This could lead to a northward shift, reducing its impact on Taiwan, or a continued westward movement that brings it closer to the island by Saturday and Sunday.

Adding to the weather concerns, a tropical depression, TD15, is forming east of the Philippines. However, conditions are not conducive for its development, and it is expected to weaken into a low-pressure system within a couple of days. Weather patterns for Taiwan are set to change starting Wednesday, with a shift to a northeasterly wind bringing more moisture. Northern regions can expect intermittent showers, while other areas may experience afternoon thunderstorms. By Friday, central and southern Taiwan will also see scattered rainfall.
