U.S. delegation to attend Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day celebrations

A high-level United States delegation is set to attend Kyrgyzstan's 35th Independence Day celebrations, signaling a deepening of diplomatic ties between the two nations. The delegation will be led by U.S. Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor.

Kyrgyzstan's Ambassador to the United States, Edil Baisalov, announced the delegation's attendance, highlighting its significance. "We view the participation of a U.S. delegation at such a high level in our country’s main national holiday as a sign of strengthening Kyrgyzstan, USA relations and growing mutual interest," Baisalov stated.

The delegation's presence is seen as a testament to a shared commitment to elevating the Kyrgyz-American partnership. This follows a period of renewed momentum in relations, particularly after a meeting between Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and then-U.S. President Donald Trump in November of the previous year.

Bishkek and Washington are actively expanding their political dialogue and practical cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, technology, and education. A new bilateral cooperation agreement is reportedly prepared and awaits signing, further indicating a positive trajectory for the relationship.
