UAE Donates $1 Million in Relief Items to Flood-Hit Ghana

The United Arab Emirates has provided Ghana with US$1 million in relief supplies to support communities devastated by floods on June 29. The humanitarian aid, delivered through Ghana's Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, Seidu Issifu, comprises essential items like food and toiletries.

This gesture signifies the UAE's solidarity with Ghana during a challenging period and aims to supplement the government's and the National Disaster Management Organisation's relief efforts. Minister Issifu conveyed Ghana's deep appreciation for the timely support, highlighting it as a testament to international cooperation in disaster management, especially in the face of escalating climate-related threats.

The minister underscored the critical role of partnerships, like the one with the UAE, in bolstering Ghana's capacity to respond to climate emergencies and safeguard vulnerable populations.

He stated that the UAE views assisting nations in need as a shared responsibility rooted in unity and cooperation.
