UAE Expands 14-Day Tourist Visa Program to Include Six More Countries

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has broadened its 14-day visit visa program, now extending eligibility to travelers from six more nations, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, South Africa, and Kenya. This new policy specifically caters to short-term tourists who possess confirmed round-trip tickets or onward travel arrangements.

This strategic decision by the UAE government is part of a larger effort to solidify its standing as a premier global center for tourism and business activities. The visa application process will be managed digitally through the Dubai Visa Processing Centre (DVPC), facilitated by VFS Global.

Jiten Vyas, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Business Development at VFS Global, highlighted that this collaborative program is designed to streamline the travel experience for tourists. "This initiative supports the UAE's vision as an accessible and attractive global destination for tourists," Vyas stated. The digital platform aims to simplify administrative procedures, making them more concise.

To qualify for the 14-day visa, travelers must meet specific criteria. Stays in the UAE are limited to a minimum of 48 hours and a maximum of 14 days. Additionally, visa applications must be submitted within 30 days of the planned arrival date. A key requirement for applicants from the six newly included countries is holding a valid residence permit from countries such as Australia, Canada, the UK, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, or any EU member state, with at least six months of validity remaining. Holders of US Green Cards are also eligible, but student visas do not qualify.

This expansion is expected to make short trips to the UAE for tourism, business, or transit significantly easier for eligible travelers. VFS Global's online channels will serve visa applications for tourists from 180 nationalities seeking short stays or transit in Dubai and surrounding areas, complementing their physical service centers.
