UBSI Pontianak's Information Systems EXPO 2026 showcases 35 digital solutions by students

The Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) campus in Pontianak has demonstrated its dedication to fostering innovation and preparing students for the digital workforce through its Information Systems EXPO 2026. Held over two days, the event served as a platform for students to present 35 digital works, ranging from applications to information systems, all developed to solve practical challenges faced by various sectors.

These projects go beyond mere academic exercises, with each creation stemming from identified needs within government bodies, organizations, small and medium enterprises, schools, and companies that partnered with the students. The development process involved thorough analysis, design, implementation, and testing, ensuring the solutions are ready for immediate use by their intended partners.

The Information Systems EXPO is tangible proof that students not only learn theory in the classroom but are also capable of producing works that provide direct benefits to the community and industry.

Eri Bayu Pratama, Head of UBSI Pontianak campus, officially opened the expo, commending the academic community's efforts. He emphasized that the expo is tangible proof of students' ability to create beneficial works for society and industry, moving beyond classroom theory. Pratama praised the Information Systems program and its students for their remarkable innovations, expressing hope that the event will continue to grow as a hub for collaboration and digital solutions.

Muhammad Sony Maulana, Head of the Information Systems program at UBSI Pontianak, explained that the expo is a practical application of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach used in their curriculum. This methodology pushes students to not only develop systems but also to understand user needs and deliver effective solutions. Maulana stated that the expo represents an academic accountability and a genuine contribution to the community, showcasing the students' ability to create impactful digital solutions.
