UBSI Seminar Guides Students on Career Planning Before Graduation

Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) recently hosted the "BSI Digination" seminar, themed "Winning Before Graduating x Youth is Only Once," to equip students with essential career preparation strategies. Held at the UBSI Convention Center in Bekasi, the event featured Creatorpreneur Aldio Ogut as the main speaker, with Agung Dwi Sandi, CEO of Rankpillar, moderating the Q&A session.

Ogut stressed the importance for students to grasp the realities of the professional world early on. He warned that a lack of early preparation could lead to "culture shock" upon graduation, as many aspects of professional life are not covered in academic settings. "I feel like a useful person because I can inspire my juniors and provide insight into the actual reality of the working world," Ogut shared, expressing a wish that someone had offered him similar guidance when he was younger.

Drawing an analogy from Sun Tzu's "The Art of War," Ogut likened career preparation to a strategic battle plan. He asserted that victory is not solely determined during the competition but is largely secured through meticulous planning beforehand. "If we want to win, we must have a plan before going to war," he explained. "According to Sun Tzu, when we have already planned, we have won fifty percent of the battle. Likewise, before graduating, we must understand the world we will face so as not to lose before we even start."

The seminar also facilitated a dynamic discussion during the Q&A, where students actively engaged with Sandi on topics such as readiness for the job market, professional networking, and self-development amidst intense industry competition. UBSI, positioning itself as a Creative Digital Campus, continues to organize such events to connect students with industry professionals, aiming to cultivate graduates who are not only academically proficient but also well-prepared for professional challenges through robust planning.
