Uiwang City Honored as Top Municipality for Eighth Straight Year

Uiwang City has once again demonstrated its administrative prowess, earning the title of an excellent municipality for the eighth consecutive year in the 2025 City and County Comprehensive Evaluation organized by the Gyeonggi Provincial Government.

The comprehensive evaluation system measures the administrative performance and policy execution capabilities of local governments across Gyeonggi Province. Uiwang City, placed in Group 3 alongside cities like Icheon and Dongducheon, achieved the highest S-grade in all quantitative indicators. The city excelled across various domains, including politics, economy, balanced growth, social welfare, foreign policy, and national security.

This consistent recognition highlights Uiwang City's strong performance and effective governance. As a result of this latest award, the city will receive 200 million won in financial incentives. Over the past eight years, the cumulative grant money secured through this evaluation has reached approximately 2 billion won.

Mayor Kim Sung-je expressed his pride in the achievement, stating, "This is a meaningful accomplishment that once again recognizes Uiwang City's excellent administrative capabilities." He added that the city plans to utilize the secured funds to implement key national and provincial policies, focusing on resolving resident inconveniences and revitalizing the local economy to create a "premium city where all citizens are happy."
