Ukraine hits warehouses of Russia's top retailer - Russia

Ukraine has escalated its drone campaign by striking warehouses of Russia's top online retailer, Wildberries, in attacks that injured several people and killed at least one worker. This latest assault follows a previous Ukrainian drone strike on Saturday that killed eight employees, caused fires, and disrupted operations at the company's facilities.

The attacks on Wildberries, a central pillar of Russia's consumer economy, appear to represent a strategic widening of Kyiv's efforts. By targeting infrastructure vital to the Russian economy, Ukraine aims to disrupt the Kremlin's war machine and pressure Moscow towards peace negotiations.

Reports indicate that warehouses in Krasnodar and Nevinnomyssk were attacked. Social media footage verified by Reuters shows a large smoke plume over Krasnodar. Local authorities confirmed one worker died in Armavir from falling drone debris, and in Krasnodar, 10 people were wounded in an attack on a storage complex. Drone debris also damaged two apartment buildings in Krasnodar, though no injuries were reported there. Efforts to combat the fire at the Krasnodar warehouse involved 105 personnel.

Company co-founder Tatyana Kim expressed her distress over the attacks on "ordinary people, on our employees, on all of us who are simply doing our jobs." Ukraine has not officially commented on the recent strikes. Wildberries, which began as an online apparel reseller, has grown into a major marketplace. Online sales in Russia surged 28% in 2025, reaching 11.5 trillion rubles, with digital platform sales accounting for about 8.5% of GDP.
