Ukraine Intelligence: Russia Plans to Mobilize Another 600,000

Ukraine's intelligence agencies have revealed that Russia is planning a significant new wave of mobilization, aiming to draft an additional 600,000 individuals into its armed forces over the next two years. This move is reportedly intended to bolster existing combat units and establish new military formations.

The intelligence suggests that Russia is experiencing a decline in its military initiative and is suffering substantial losses, leading to a decrease in the number of voluntary recruits. The planned mobilization is seen as a response to these challenges on the battlefield.

Furthermore, Russia is reportedly enacting legislative changes and strengthening control mechanisms. These measures could facilitate the forced conscription of prisoners, potentially including women currently incarcerated. The government is also said to be determining how many law enforcement personnel will be sent to serve, with training periods ranging from 15 to 60 days, and some training possibly occurring in Belarus.

Ukrainian intelligence believes that the decision on this large-scale mobilization may be strategically timed for after the Russian parliamentary elections, scheduled for September 18-20. The intelligence services also anticipate that the Russian leadership is preparing coercive measures to manage potential negative societal and economic repercussions stemming from these mobilization efforts.
