Ukraine Launches Massive Drone Attack Across 19 Russian Regions, At Least Six Dead

Ukrainian forces launched a massive overnight drone assault, targeting at least 19 regions across Russia and resulting in the deaths of six people. The coordinated attacks also inflicted damage on various facilities, notably including warehouses belonging to Wildberries, Russia's largest e-commerce firm.

This offensive marks one of the most significant drone attacks in the Moscow region, situated hundreds of kilometers from the front lines that stretch over 1,000 kilometers. According to Russia's Defense Ministry, a total of 320 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and downed between 8:00 PM on Monday and 8:00 AM on Tuesday.

In the Moscow region, Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported that five individuals were killed and six were injured. Fires erupted in the Navashkino industrial zone, with initial reports indicating the casualties occurred in a warehouse. Meanwhile, in the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine, one person died and two were injured when a drone struck a vehicle late Monday.

The northwestern Leningrad region also experienced an attack, with a fire breaking out at a Wildberries warehouse. The company's press service confirmed damage to the facility. Seventeen drones were reportedly downed in the region, and one person was injured, according to regional governor Alexander Drazdenka.

These strikes come as Ukraine has intensified its long-range attacks on Russian territory in recent weeks, frequently targeting infrastructure linked to Russia's war effort. Russia, in response, announced it had struck four sea vessels allegedly used by the Ukrainian military and a vehicle parts factory in the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk.
