Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is navigating a complex political landscape as public discontent over military leadership grows. Protests demanding the dismissal of armed forces commander Oleksandr Syrskyi have spread to at least 16 cities, fueled by anger over the recent firing of a popular former defense minister.

Sources indicate he has offered the former defense minister a significant role on the National Security and Defense Council, granting him more decision-making power and responsibility for defense technology implementation and reform coordination. This position would allow him to pursue reforms independently of the Defense Ministry.
