Ukraine: President Zelenskyy Dismisses Armed Forces Commander Syrskyi

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has removed Oleksandr Syrskyi from his post as commander of Ukraine's armed forces, announcing the decision via Telegram. General Major Mykhailo Drapatyi has been appointed to succeed Syrskyi, according to reports from news agencies Reuters and AFP.

Drapatyi previously served within the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This leadership change is part of a series of personnel adjustments within the Ukrainian government that have been reported in recent weeks. Just last Wednesday, the popular Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced his resignation, which led to protests in various parts of Ukraine against the dismissals.
