Ukraine Says Air Defences Neutralised 10 Russian Missiles and 187 Drones

Ukraine’s air force said its defences neutralised 187 drones and 10 missiles during a Russian attack that mainly targeted the Odesa and Kyiv regions.

The attack involved 218 drones, including Shahed drones, about one-third of them equipped with jet engines, as well as Parodiya-type unmanned aircraft. Russia also launched Iskander-M, KN-23 and S-400 ballistic missiles, Zircon anti-ship missiles, Kalibr cruise missiles, Kh-31P anti-radar missiles and S-8000 Banderol missiles, according to the Ukrainian account.

Ukraine said the response involved aviation units from its air force and other defence forces, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups.

Preliminary figures showed that Ukrainian forces shot down or neutralised five ballistic missiles, two Banderol missiles and five Kalibr cruise missiles. They also reported intercepting or neutralising 187 drones.

Missile and drone strikes were recorded at 28 locations, while debris from downed drones was found at 10 additional locations.
