Ukraine targets Ozon warehouses in new e-commerce offensive

Ukraine has escalated its campaign against Russian e-commerce platforms by targeting Ozon warehouses, following weeks of similar attacks on its larger competitor, Wildberries. Kyiv claims Wildberries supplies components to the Russian military.

Ozon, Russia's second-largest online retailer, confirmed a significant fire at a logistics center in Krasnodar Krai on Sunday following a drone attack. The company stated that all systems functioned as expected and employees were evacuated, with no preliminary casualties reported. This incident occurred after drone attacks on two other Ozon logistics centers in Adygea and Stavropol Krai overnight into August 24.

One of the targeted centers in Adygea, located approximately 390 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, is a key regional hub for order processing and distribution. Another attack hit a regional fulfillment center in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai. Local authorities confirmed that air defense systems repelled drones targeting an industrial zone in Nevinnomyssk.

These strikes are part of a new offensive announced by the Ukrainian military, which has already hit 15 major Wildberries logistics centers. The attacks on warehouses, often containing flammable goods, are reportedly causing billions of dollars in economic damage. The Ukrainian military stated that after targeting Wildberries, "it's Ozon's turn."
