Ukrainian National Suspected of Attempted Murder in Poland

An 18-year-old Ukrainian national, suspected of attempting to murder a woman in Wrocław, Poland, was presented to prosecutors on Monday. The incident occurred Saturday around 9 p.m. on Gagarina Street in the Muchobór housing estate. Police apprehended the suspect shortly after the attack.

The victim, a 30-year-old Polish woman, was reportedly stabbed on the staircase of her apartment building. She was hospitalized in critical condition, according to Aleksandra Freus, spokesperson for the Wrocław Municipal Police Command. The motive for the attack remains under investigation.

Ukrainian consular services in Wrocław issued a statement on Sunday expressing regret over the incident. The Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław emphasized that all acts of violence and aggression are strongly condemned, regardless of the perpetrator or victim. The statement stressed that anyone committing a crime must be held accountable under Polish law.
