ULM Partners with IBEC to Open UK Study Opportunities for Students

Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) has officially partnered with the Indonesian British Education Centre (IBEC) to create pathways for its students to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom. The collaboration was formalized during a visit by IBEC Director Satyadhi Hendra to ULM.

ULM Vice Rector IV, Dr. Yusuf Azis, highlighted that the partnership will provide broader opportunities for the entire ULM academic community. Beyond academic advancement, the initiative seeks to foster international networking and cultivate research and academic collaborations with universities across the UK.

IBEC, established in 1998 by the British Council, acts as an official representative for UK universities. The center plays a crucial role in bridging educational institutions between Indonesia and the UK. IBEC offers comprehensive, no-cost support to aspiring students. This includes consultation, assistance with applications, university placement, accommodation arrangements, pre-departure briefings, certified document translation, and visa processing.

Satyadhi Hendra noted that IBEC has facilitated various collaborations between Indonesian and British universities, such as joint degree programs, study abroad opportunities, and joint research initiatives at both master's and bachelor's levels. UK universities typically offer three-year bachelor's programs, one-year master's programs, and three-to-five-year doctoral programs. Prospective students generally need an IELTS score between 6.0 and 6.5, along with other documents like diplomas, recommendation letters, personal statements, and research proposals for doctoral candidates.
