Understanding Jetour T1 and T2's i-DM Technology

Jetour's latest plug-in hybrid SUVs, the T1 and T2, feature an innovative Intelligent Dual Mode (i-DM) technology that orchestrates the interplay between their gasoline engines and electric motors. This system is designed to operate these power sources either independently or in tandem, adapting dynamically to various driving scenarios.

Irwan Nugraha Kurnia, Product Senior Manager at PT Jetour Sales Indonesia, explained that the i-DM technology is customized for each model. "Each consumer has different driving preferences. Therefore, we present Intelligent Dual Mode (i-DM) with different characteristics in the Jetour T1 i-DM and Jetour T2 i-DM," he stated during a media event.

Technically, the i-DM system integrates a 1.5 TGDI Dedicated Hybrid Engine, an electric motor, and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). This integrated setup automatically determines the most suitable power source, electric, gasoline, or a combination, without requiring manual driver input. The system's flexibility allows vehicles to operate purely on electric power, solely on the gasoline engine, or utilize both for enhanced performance or efficiency.

Jetour has implemented distinct configurations for the T1 and T2. The Jetour T2 i-DM boasts two electric motors paired with a 3-Speed DHT, engineered for responsive acceleration and robust driving capabilities suitable for an SUV's diverse demands. In contrast, the Jetour T1 i-DM features a single electric motor and a 1-Speed DHT, offering a simpler operational character for daily use and long-distance journeys. Furthermore, the T1 i-DM presents five hybrid operating scenarios, while the T2 i-DM offers nine, all managed by a Hybrid Management System that optimizes the engine and motor combination based on real-time vehicle conditions. Drivers can also fine-tune the vehicle's behavior through selectable Driving Mode, Power Mode, and Battery Level Mode settings.
