UNESCO AI Ethics Forum Reinforces Saudi Arabia's Global Leadership

Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a global leader in the ethical development and governance of artificial intelligence, underscored by its co-hosting of the fourth edition of the UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (GFEAI 2026).

Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saud highlighted that the Kingdom's role in hosting the forum demonstrates its advanced international standing and commitment to fostering global dialogue on emerging technologies. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia's broader vision to ensure artificial intelligence is used responsibly and ethically, serving humanity and advancing sustainable development goals.

The partnership between the SDAIA and the UNESCO, in co-hosting this important global event, reflects the advanced position the Kingdom has attained on the international stage in supporting global dialogue on emerging technologies.

The event, scheduled from September 14 to 17, 2026, in Riyadh, is a significant collaboration between the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), the International Centre for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), and UNESCO. The forum coincides with Saudi Arabia's designated Year of Artificial Intelligence and runs parallel to the Global AI Summit 2026, amplifying the Kingdom's focus on AI's future.
