Unibe honors Nidia Sanabria and celebrates 55 years of its community

The Universidad Iberoamericana celebrated two milestones from its institutional history with a gala concert at Asunción’s Ignacio A. Pane Municipal Theater: the centenary of founder Nidia Sanabria de Romero’s birth and the 55th anniversary of the Ibero-American Community.

The National Symphony Orchestra of Paraguay took part in the event, performing a repertoire prepared for the occasion. The concert was open to the educational community and the general public, with free admission.

The first part of the evening recognized people and institutions that had supported the university’s development. The anniversary celebration then turned to the Ibero-American Community, with a musical program built around its 55-year history and its focus on education and responses to the challenges of each era.

Unibe Rector Sanie Romero de Velázquez highlighted the institution’s commitment to education that transforms lives, creates knowledge and prepares new generations with values and the ability to contribute to society. The tribute to Sanabria de Romero carried particular significance for the university, whose identity remains linked to her educational vision and its aim of preparing students for future challenges.
