UNM Students Gain Industry Readiness Through Robotics Internship Program

Universitas Nusa Mandiri (UNM) is equipping its students with essential real-world experience through its flagship Internship Experience Program (IEP) 3+1. This initiative allows students to complete three years of academic study followed by a full year of professional internship at partner companies, ensuring they are well-prepared for the job market.

Prita Laura, a Systems Information student at UNM's Faculty of Information Technology, has already benefited from the program. She secured an internship at PT Racer Robot Indonesia, a company specializing in robotics technology and digital education. At the company, Prita took on roles in coding, artificial intelligence development, and administration, contributing to educational AI games and assisting with company data processing.

Laura emphasized how the internship connected her academic knowledge with practical industry demands. "Through this experience, I learned many things, from technology development, communication, to how to work professionally in a team," she stated. Her coursework in programming fundamentals and algorithmic logic proved particularly helpful in her role developing programs using Pictoblox software.

Students need to be brave to seize opportunities, because small experiences undertaken today can become big provisions for the future.

Muhammad Faisal, Head of Nusa Mandiri Career Center (NCC), highlighted that the IEP 3+1 is part of UNM's strategy to strengthen the link between higher education and industry requirements. He stressed the importance of practical experience alongside theoretical knowledge for students to understand workplace culture and professional challenges. The NCC provides career preparation, CV assistance, interview simulations, and access to internship opportunities to support students in the program.
