Uruapan Mayor Grecia Quiroz has publicly accused authorities of orchestrating a plan to silence her and fabricate charges to imprison her, following the ongoing investigation into the death of Carlos Manzo.

In a message posted on social media, Quiroz expressed her suspicion that attempts would be made to "manufacture any accusation" against her. She also suggested that those currently criticizing or denouncing her might soon be rewarded with political positions or favors. Quiroz believes that her political opponents, frustrated by unfavorable poll numbers and an inability to achieve their objectives through conventional means, are resorting to tactics such as audits, legal complaints, budget reductions, legislative reforms, and systematic smear campaigns.
