Uruguay Authorizes National Broadcast for National Party's 190th Anniversary

The Uruguayan government has authorized a national broadcast for the National Party, scheduled for Monday, August 10. The request was made by Álvaro Delgado, the president of the National Party's executive committee, to mark the party's 190th anniversary. The broadcast will feature a message from the party leadership.

President Yamandú Orsi and Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mining Fernanda Cardona signed the resolution authorizing the transmission. According to the Presidency's website, the broadcast aims to commemorate the founding of the National Party. This authorization is in line with Article 43 of Law No. 20.383, which mandates that television and radio broadcasters integrate official simultaneous transmission chains determined by the executive branch.

These official broadcasts are intended to cover public interest topics or urgent matters that could significantly affect the population, with reasonable periodicity and duration. In addition to the national broadcast, the National Party is organizing a rally on Sunday, August 9, to celebrate its anniversary. Former President Luis Lacalle Pou is expected to attend and deliver a speech to party members and supporters.
