Uruguay's Presidency seeks Public Accountant with $102,573 monthly salary

Uruguay's Office of Planning and Budget (OPP) has announced a job opening for a Public Accountant, seeking to bolster financial and accounting management within subnational governments. The position is offered as a service contract for 12 months, with a monthly remuneration of $102,573 plus VAT, reflecting 2026 values. This initiative is part of the Fiscal and Subnational Services Management Development and Strengthening Program (PDGS).

The role is crucial for enhancing the financial administration systems of departmental governments and strengthening the institutional capacity of the OPP's decentralization area. The selected consultant will provide technical support in systematizing, analyzing, and preparing documents based on financial and accounting information. This includes collaborating on actions to fortify departmental government financial systems and analyzing financial data such as five-year budgets and management reports.

To be eligible, candidates must possess a professional Public Accountant degree recognized in Uruguay and have at least one year of experience in public administration or related public finance and accounting activities. Postgraduate specializations in public finance or accounting standards, along with proficiency in office software for data analysis, will be considered advantageous. The selected professional will also be expected to travel within the country as required by their duties.
