US strikes Iran, hitting over 80 targets in response to ship attacks

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the completion of an offensive operation against Iran, striking more than 80 targets. These included air defense systems, command and control networks, coastal radar sites, and anti-ship missile bases. The operation, which utilized precision-guided munitions, was a direct response to Iran's recent attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM stated that it also targeted over 60 small vessels belonging to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters. The aim of these strikes was to degrade Iran's capacity to threaten international shipping lanes. The U.S. military asserted that this action was an immediate response to Iran's aggression.
