UTEC seeks cybersecurity lecturer with $42,510 salary for 20-hour week

The University of Technology of Uruguay (UTEC) has announced a new job opening for a lecturer specializing in cybersecurity and data science. The core purpose of this recruitment drive is to find an educator who can support problem-based learning activities within UTEC's "Pixel: Global Digital Citizenship, Artificial Intelligence and Critical Understanding of Technologies" program. The initial contract will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and objective achievement. Beyond teaching, the lecturer will be expected to develop educational materials for the university's digital platforms and assist in research projects related to their expertise during periods when classes are not in session.

Key responsibilities include delivering lectures, providing academic support, and participating in the ongoing review and planning of course content. The role also involves fostering connections with industry professionals, academic institutions, and social organizations to enhance the program's reach and impact. Furthermore, the lecturer will contribute to research, development, and innovation initiatives within UTEC's Digital Transformation Center.

UTEC is looking for candidates with a strong technical background and foundational knowledge in secure data management and protection. While advanced university student status or a degree in information technology, cybersecurity, data science, engineering, or similar fields are mandatory, additional qualifications such as specific cybersecurity certifications, knowledge of networks, information security, intermediate English proficiency, and familiarity with cloud platforms and data analysis tools like Python are highly valued.
