UTHM Alumni Celebrate 33 Years of Legacy with Peninsula Motorcycle Tour

Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) celebrated its 33-year legacy with a significant motorcycle tour, the 'UTHM RE 2026: Merdeka Ride-Malaysian Technical University (MTUN) Alumni Circuit.' A contingent of 29 alumni embarked on a four-day, three-night journey across Peninsular Malaysia, reinforcing the bond between the university and its graduates while simultaneously broadening UTHM's strategic connections with other higher education institutions.

The program, themed "Tracing Alumni, Connecting Legacies," commenced on August 24, 2026, at UTHM's main campus in Parit Raja. The convoy made impactful stops and visits to various institutions, including Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Sekolah Menengah Sains Rembau, the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), and Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), before returning to UTHM.

A key moment of the tour was the convoy's stop at KPT in Putrajaya on August 24. Here, participants were received by the Minister of Higher Education, Datuk’ Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir, in a brief but significant meeting. The journey continued after a send-off ceremony led by the Secretary-General of KPT, Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Aminuddin Hassim, alongside the Director-General of Higher Education, Datuk Professor Dr. Azlinda Azman.

According to Ts. Dr. Norfaniza Mokhtar, Director of the Career Advancement and Alumni Centre (PKKA), the UTHM RE 2026 initiative is a continuation of the 'Alumni Outreach UTHM' program. This approach emphasizes direct engagement with alumni in their respective locations. "UTHM RE 2026: Merdeka Ride-MTUN Alumni Circuit is not just a journey; it is an effort to bring the university closer to its alumni, to honor their legacies, and to provide a platform for alumni to continue contributing to the university's development and the next generation of UTHM graduates," she stated.
