Vaccination drive helps reduce livestock disease risk in Tanahun

A comprehensive livestock vaccination program in Nepal's Tanahun district has significantly lowered the threat of infectious diseases among local farm animals. The Veterinary Hospital and Livestock Services Expert Centre reported that the initiative has been highly effective in protecting cattle, goats, and pigs.

The program administered a total of 190,201 doses of vaccines. These targeted critical diseases including foot-and-mouth disease, lumpy skin disease, peste des petits ruminants (PPR), and classical swine fever. This widespread vaccination effort aims to safeguard the health of the livestock population and support the livelihoods of farmers in the region.

By proactively addressing these infectious diseases, the vaccination drive contributes to the overall stability and productivity of the agricultural sector in Tanahun. The successful implementation demonstrates a commitment to animal health and disease prevention within the district.
