Veep to address at Africa Mindset Reset forum in Kigali

Ghana's Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, is set to address the inaugural Africa Mindset Reset Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, a significant event focused on reshaping the continent's approach to development and governance. Her participation from August 25-26 at the Kigali Convention Centre offers Ghana a platform to contribute to crucial dialogues.

The forum, organized by the African School of Governance, anticipates approximately 1,000 leaders from across Africa and beyond, with a strong emphasis on young and emerging leaders, who are expected to constitute 80 percent of attendees. Notable figures such as former South African President Thabo Mbeki and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo are slated to attend, underscoring the forum's importance.

Under the theme 'From Pan-Africanism to Meta-Africanism,' the gathering seeks to move beyond traditional notions of political unity. It emphasizes the development of strong institutions, African-led solutions, and concrete actions. Rwandan President Paul Kagame, a co-founder of the African School of Governance, will join Vice President Opoku-Agyemang and former Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn for a session on translating African unity into tangible outcomes. The second day will focus on African ownership of natural resources and people-centered development strategies.
