Venezuela defeats Tunisia in U-17 Women's Volleyball World Championship

Venezuela's U-17 women's volleyball team achieved a significant 3-0 victory against Tunisia in their fourth match of the World Championship in Chile. This win propels the Venezuelan team back into the winning column after a previous 3-0 defeat to China on August 8.

The match concluded with set scores of 25-12, 25-10, and 25-21 in favor of Venezuela. Yalesca Colina emerged as Venezuela's top scorer with fifteen points, closely followed by Fabianny Carima with eleven. Venezuela's offensive prowess was evident, registering 38 attacks compared to Tunisia's 22, and they also dominated in serving with nine direct aces, while Tunisia managed only three.

The Venezuelan squad also demonstrated a strong defensive effort, accumulating 59 digs against Tunisia's 48. Tunisia contributed to Venezuela's score by conceding 25 points due to errors, whereas Venezuela allowed only 16. With this result, and pending other group matches, Venezuela holds second place in Group A with seven points. Tunisia is currently at the bottom of the group standings.

Venezuela is scheduled to play its final group match against the Philippines on August 11. Yalesca Colina has been a consistent high-performer for Venezuela throughout the tournament, leading the team in scoring in their recent matches. Fabianny Carima has also been a key offensive contributor for the national team.
