Veronica Ferres: Separation from Carsten Maschmeyer after more than 15 years

German actress and producer Veronica Ferres and investor Carsten Maschmeyer have announced their separation after more than 15 years as a couple. The announcement came via a joint statement detailing the reasons behind their decision.

"Our activities as an actress and producer, and as an investor, demand a lot of our time and require our presence in many places around the world, far from home," the statement read. "Over time, our love has evolved into a deep, trusting friendship." Both expressed gratitude for their shared journey and affirmed their intention to remain closely connected in the future.

The couple emphasized that the well-being of their family remains their top priority. Ferres, 61, has a daughter, Lilly, with film producer Martin Krug. Maschmeyer, 67, has two sons from a previous relationship. They stated their commitment to being there for their respective stepchildren and the entire family.

Ferres and Maschmeyer had been a couple for over 15 years. They became engaged in November 2011 and married in September 2014 in the South of France. Ferres is one of Germany's most recognized actresses and also works as a producer. Maschmeyer founded the financial services provider AWD in Hanover, authored several books, and has appeared as an investor and juror on the TV show "Die Höhle der Löwen" (The Lion's Den) since 2016.
