Very hot and humid weather continues across Egypt

Egypt is bracing for continued extreme heat and humidity as the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a further rise in temperatures across the nation. Residents can expect very hot and humid conditions during the daytime, with slightly hot and humid weather persisting into the night and early morning hours.

The high humidity levels are a significant factor, as they will exacerbate the heat, making the perceived temperature feel higher than the actual recorded temperatures. This phenomenon will intensify the discomfort for those outdoors.

Temperatures are set to reach significant highs. Greater Cairo is projected to hit 39 degrees Celsius (41C perceived). Northern Upper Egypt will experience a high of 41C (43C perceived), while Southern Upper Egypt faces the most extreme conditions with a high of 43C, feeling like 44C nationwide.

While the EMA anticipates only a slight chance of low cloud formation over scattered areas, potentially bringing insignificant light rain, the primary concern remains the heat and humidity. Additionally, intermittent wind activity is predicted for parts of the northwestern coast and northern Lower Egypt, which may offer some cooling during the night. However, there is also a possibility of sand and dust storms forming in exposed areas across northern Egypt, extending towards Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and parts of the Western Desert.
